Anna Wilma Dorner, 88, of Mansfield, beloved wife of Robert A. Dorner, passed away into eternity Tuesday evening, June 25, 2013 in the peaceful surroundings of her home after an extended illness. She was born May 23, 1925 in Mansfield to the late Wilma (Eichinger) and William Schuff. She was born, lived and died at her homestead site on Pulver List Rd.
She attended East Mansfield Grade School and Madison Senior High School, Class of 1943 after which she went to work at S.S. Kresge and later at Westinghouse Corp. Anna was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mansfield. She was a devoted homemaker and caring spouse. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and crocheting. In her early years, Anna enjoyed traveling through Europe with her husband Robert. She was a member of Mansfield Liederkranz.
Anna is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert A. Dorner and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Schuff Swigart and Daisy Schuff Tucker; two brothers, William and Joseph Schuff; and an infant brother, William Jr.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 28, 2013 from 1-3 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Private graveside services will be held in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice, 335 Glessner Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44903.
