MANSFIELD — Richland County and Crawford County are both under a Level 1 snow emergency this morning, according to the sheriff’s departments.

Under a Level 1, “Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.”

Keep in mind, the sheriff of a county may declare a snow emergency and temporarily close county and township roads within his jurisdiction for the preservation of the public peace. The sheriff can also close state and municipal roads.

A winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service is also in effect for Richland County and Crawford County this morning.
