The American Heart Association’s HeartChase is coming to Mansfield on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This new program offers the community a creative way to explore the city, have a good time and contribute to an important cause.

Be it building a literal food pyramid, learning a quick exercise routine or finding things in the community that participants never knew existed, HeartChase is guaranteed to be a lot of fun for all involved.

HeartChase is a new event that allows all participants the chance to have an adventure, without having to leave their city, and raise money to support the life-saving work of the American Heart Association. The adventure takes several teams throughout their city where they are going to have to solve clues to complete checkpoints in the quickest time possible – to beat the other teams and be named as HeartChase champions.

There is more than one way to take part in this adventure. Community members can volunteer to become part of a team that is striving to put this incredible event together; can participate in the actual race; or just contribute to worthy cause of the American Heart Association.

For more information on joining a team or volunteering, please visit our HeartChase community website at MedCentral.org.

Founded in 1924, the American Heart Association today is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to reducing disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. These diseases, America’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers, claim about 870,000 lives a year. In fiscal year 2005–06 the association invested over $543 million in research, professional and public education, advocacy and community service programs to help all Americans live longer, healthier lives.
