Patricia Elaine (Denig) Hofsaess, 65, of Mansfield, died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. Born November 5, 1947 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Joseph and Wanda (Emmer) Denig. Patricia attended St. Peter’s Schools and graduated from Malabar High School. She received her Bachelor degree from The Ohio State University and was a lifelong Buckeyes fan. She had a great passion for teaching, retiring from Clear Fork Schools after 42 years of service teaching first grade. Patricia was a kind hearted and loving person who had a heart of gold, never met a stranger and relished on the simple things in life. She enjoyed boating with family and friends, especially at Pleasant Hill but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ernie Hofsaess; two daughters, Amy (Chad) Bogner of Crestline and Alyson (Keith) Johnson of New Albany, Ohio; four grandchildren, Evan and Maggie Bogner and Owen and Marley Johnson; three sisters, Barb (Ken) Fairchild, Mary Beth (Tad) Cochran and Wanda (Steve) Them all of Mansfield; a brother, Jimmy Denig of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and John Denig.

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church celebrated by Father Mike Geiger. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Clear Fork PTO.
