Dennis “Denny” Ray Robinson, age 79, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 4, 2026, in Mansfield, Ohio.
Denny grew up in Lucas, Ohio, and later made his home in Perrysville, Ohio. It was there that he truly immersed himself in the beauty of God’s creation. A man of quiet faith, Denny had a deep passion for nature, spending his time fishing, hunting, and going on mushroom hunts. He deeply appreciated the world around him, especially the glorious fall foliage at Mt. Jeez near Malabar Farm—a place that remained special to him throughout his life.
An avid bicycle rider, Denny was known for his dedication and stamina. Before his retirement from General Motors, he frequently rode his bike to work from Perrysville to the Ontario General Motors plant—a 40-mile round trip.
Like his father before him, Denny possessed a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor that kept his family constantly entertained. His favorite one-liners, such as declaring things “the world’s best” or announcing it was “time to cut a rug,” rang from his lips like a personal comedy show, leaving behind a legacy of laughter.
Denny was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Dale Robinson, and other dear relatives he cherished and missed.
Denny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maleta Ann Robinson, and his two children, Sherri Lynn and Brian Dale. He was a proud grandfather to Sherri’s children: William, Megan, Samuel (Meggie), Ava-Rose, and Benjamin; and Brian’s children: Adam, Bradley, Darren, and Easton. He was also blessed with 5 great-grandchildren, Liam, LeeRoy, Megan Jr., Mabel, and Ellie, and was looking forward to the arrival of his great-grandson, William, due in January 2027. Denny also leaves behind his loyal dog, Tipper. They will all miss his humor and bright spirit deeply.
Cremation arrangements are being trusted to the care of Werner-Gompf Funeral Services.
To celebrate his life and his deep connection to his stomping grounds, a Celebration of Life is being planned for this fall at the historic Pugh Cabin within Malabar Farm State Park. Those interested in attending the celebration are kindly asked to reach out directly to his wife or children.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, who will distribute the funds among several non-profit organizations that were close to Denny’s heart.
