Thomas W. Jett, age 72, passed away on September 1, 2026 at home following a courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma cancer. He was born to the late Tom and Donnabell Jett. Tom graduated from Marion Harding high school and he worked at many companies throughout his life, including Alloy Cast Steel, Marion Power Shovel, Iberia Fabricators, and McClain of Ohio. He even had his own business for a while, S&T Home Furnishings in Galion, Ohio.
Tom loved watching and feeding the deer in our yard. He enjoyed country music, telling stories, a good barbecue and camping. Together, Tom and Sally visited all the state parks in Ohio. Back in April, they got to go to the Smoky Mountains.
Tom is survived by his wife Sally Grimes, whom he met in 1982. They decided to marry on April 27, 2004. He is also survived by his sons, Eric, Adam and Andy; numerous grandchildren and a great grandchild. He is survived by a sister, Donna Bowers of Marion; brother, Tony (Edna) of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and a sister Vicky Carter; nieces, nephews and many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Terry Jett; in-laws, Bill (Wilda) Grimes; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cheri and Bill Grimes; two brothers-in-law, John Bowers and Jimmy Carter.
At his request, there will not be any calling hours or services. Contributions could be made to a charity of donors choice. Many heartfelt thanks to Donna, Tony, Matt, Tammy and Root Kindle, Jane Burke, Gary, Grimes, Carrie and Deb for prayers, text, help and support. It was so very appreciated.
This was an awful journey, but Tom is pain-free now! Amen
