John (Johnny) Wesley Clark Jr., age 57, of Wasilla, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on July 12, 2026.
John was born on August 19, 1968 in Mansfield, Ohio to Johnny Wesley Clark Sr. and Joann Clark. He later made his home in Wasilla, Alaska where he lived for the past 20 years building a life filled with family, friendships and the outdoors.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 8 years. His service reflected the dedication, strength and resilience that remained a part of who he was throughout his life.
On June 10, 1995, John married the love of his life, Jennifer M Clark. The life they built together was his greatest adventure, and the love they shared remained the foundation of his happiest years.
John was a journeyman electrician for 35 years. 10 years were spent with the IBEW, 10 years were with General Motors in Ontario, Ohio and 15 years on Alaska’s North Slope oil fields, where he spent most of that time working for BP.
John had a passion for competition. He enjoyed playing softball and riding his Harley in his younger years. He also enjoyed golf, pool, darts, bowling and cornhole—the kind of activities where stories are told and friendships are made. He loved the outdoors and all that Alaska had to offer. He delighted in hunting, fishing, archery and shooting firearms. He loved reading well written novels, listening to bluegrass music and dancing with his wife and daughters.
John loved spending his summers around the fish camp campfire with his wife and friends, watching the midnight sun slowly give way from the bright blue skies of June to the brilliant orange and red sunsets of fall. Humble at heart, he never sought extravagance but found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the people who shared them with him.
He had many friends whom he loved, but above all, John cherished his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than being a grandfather. He will be remembered for his generous heart, quick wit, unwavering loyalty, and the quiet strength that shaped the way he lived and loved.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Clark; his daughters, Devan Clark (Cole Whitaker) and Emily Clark (Brody Lindsay); his cherished granddaughter Autumn Isaacs; his father and mother, Johnny Wesley Clark Sr. and Joann Clark, his brother, Mark Clark and sister-in-law, Vonnie Clark, his nephew, Mason Clark (Daisi Clark) and their children, Mallorie Clark, Myles Clark and Bradley Kelbley, his in-laws, Joseph Willman and Sue Willman along with many brothers- and sisters-in-law and extended family, who will forever remember his presence, humor and the memories they shared.
He was preceded in death by his niece, Brookelyn Clark, brother-in-law, David Shoup and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Church, 1574 STE RT 96, Ashland on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 1:00-3:00pm. Military Honors at 1pm and Dinner to follow. All are welcome to attend.
Though Johnny is no longer with us, he is with our Lord and Savior in heaven, and the love he shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
