Carolyn Darlene Pendleton ( Bowser), 73, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. Carolyn was born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, and spent her life devoted to her faith, family, and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Carl Eugene Pendleton; her son, Carl “CR” Pendleton and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Story, Bastian, and Chael Pendleton; her daughter, Carrie Amber Clifford, and her husband, Jim Clifford; their sons Caden, Noah (Alexandria), Isaac, Josiah, and Jordan Clifford. Nieces Laura McGathey and Robin McGathey.
Carolyn was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Aria ( Caden), Austin, and Alayna ( Noah, Alexandria). Nothing brought Carolyn greater joy than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert D. Bowser and Martha Bowser, as well as her sisters, Faith Ann McGathy and Cheryl Goyer.
Carolyn graduated from Madison High School in 1970. Throughout her career, she worked for several organizations, including the Mansfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, Rimrock Corporation, Peco II, and Chase Bank. She approached every role with dedication and a warm, welcoming spirit and candy to share, of course. She loved shopping, camping, the beach, and dancing anywhere she could hear music!
In retirement, Carolyn found her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life, and her favorite scripture was Psalm 91. She passionately shared with everyone she met to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Known for her vibrant personality and contagious enthusiasm, Carolyn was often described as the life of the party. She had a gift for making others feel welcome, encouraging those around her, and ensuring that everyone was having a good time. She loved giving gifts and would always put others’ needs before her own. She had a great love for her cat Booboo and spoke often of the day when she would get to reunite with her pug, Merybelle in heaven. Her laughter, kindness, positive attitude, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, June 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel, Lexington, Ohio. A graveside funeral service will follow, and Carolyn will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Memorial Park in Lexington, Ohio.
We find comfort in knowing that she is wearing a beautiful crown with many, many jewels in the awesome presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of love, joy, faith, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
