Elizabeth Anne Miller née Garber, a beacon of warmth and joy, left this world unexpectedly on May 30, 2026, while exploring South Dakota with her partner Bill. Born on March 21, 1963, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Liz’s journey through life was marked by her vibrant spirit that embraced each moment with love, laughter and enthusiasm.
Liz was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Agnes Gnapp Garber. Her upbringing in Norton, Ohio, paved the way for a life rich in learning and exploration. A proud graduate of Norton High School in 1981, she continued her passion for education at the College of Wooster, earning her BA in Business, and later achieving a Master’s from Kent State University. Liz’s thirst for knowledge was insatiable, and she carried this love of learning throughout her life.
Professionally, Liz dedicated much of her career to IT development and testing, fields in which she excelled. Yet, the role she cherished most was as a mother to her son, Sam, who was the center of her universe and her greatest pride. Liz found profound joy in nurturing her son, watching him grow, and sharing in his accomplishments.
In the last seven years of her life, Liz found love and companionship with Vasilios “Bill” Kyrou. Together, they created beautiful memories, filled with travels and time spent in Greece, where Liz delighted in the culture, family and scenery. Their partnership was a testament to the power of love, bringing joy and serenity to Liz’s later years.
Liz’s interests reflected her vibrant personality. She had a knack for cooking, bargain hunting – particularly for wrought iron treasures, and her garden was a testament to her passion for nurturing life. Her love for the beach was well-known, as she found solace and happiness in the sand and surf. Liz’s gatherings with friends were lively affairs, where her infectious enthusiasm, laughter and genuine warmth made everyone feel at home.
To know Liz was to be inspired by her zest for life and her ability to light up any room. Her energy was boundless, her laughter contagious, and her kindness immeasurable. She was a true and unwavering friend, whose love and loyalty were steadfast.
Liz’s legacy lives on through her son, Sam, who carries forward her spirit and values. Her impact on those who knew her is profound, enduring and will be greatly missed.
In celebrating Liz’s life, we honor a woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire us all.
Interment will be private. Friends and family are encouraged to join a Celebration of Liz’s Life to be held on Saturday, June 27th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Ontario Event Center – Brown Derby Road House, 3985 Park Ave W, Ontario, OH 44903.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a donation in Liz’s name to the charity of their choice.
