SHELBY — Alex Bruskotter is on the move.

The rangy 6-foot-8 shooting guard has transferred to Cleveland State, according to social media reports.

The 2024 Shelby graduate spent his first two collegiate seasons at Wright State. He redshirted during the 2024-25 campaign and appeared in 15 games as the Raiders reached the NCAA Tournament in 2025-26.

No. 14 Wright State fell to third-seeded Virginia 82-73 in the first round. The Raiders led the Cavaliers 43-38 at the half.

Bruskotter averaged 4.5 points and 1.5 rebounds a game. He scored a career-high 25 points in a 102-90 win at Cleveland State on Feb. 15, but played sparingly after that.

He entered the transfer portal April 2.

Cleveland State was 11-22 overall and 6-14 in the Horizon League. The Vikings are coached by Rob Summers.

A four-year letterman at Shelby, Bruskotter led the Whippets to the Division II Final Four in 2024.

He scored 34 points on 13-of-16 shooting in a 68-65 state semifinal loss to Maysville. He averaged 23 points a game as a senior and scored 1,688 career points, second on Shelby’s all-time scoring list to the legendary Larry Siegfried (1,794).
