Margaret “Margie” Ann Lamb, 92, of Ontario was reunited with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Ontario.
Margie was born in Shelby, on August 26, 1933, to the late Orie and Maude (Wise) Garverick. On November 28, 1955, Margie would marry the love of her life, Luther “Bud” Lamb, and they would treasure 71 years of loving marriage together. Bud survives in Ontario.
Margie was a proud graduate of Crestline High School, where she was an active member of the marching band and carried her Bulldog spirit with her throughout her entire life. Following graduation, she attended cosmetology school and became a licensed beautician. Life would lead her to a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service, where she faithfully served as a rural carrier for the Crestline Post Office.
A devoted member of Grace Baptist Church, Margie found great joy in her faith. She generously gave her time to the church and especially cherished singing in the choir, where her presence and voice were a blessing to many.
Margie had a deep love for the outdoors. She found peace and fulfillment working in her garden and took great joy in traveling, particularly on the cruises she enjoyed with her daughters following her well-earned retirement. These trips created lasting memories and reflected her adventurous spirit.
In her free time, Margie enjoyed the fellowship of friends, whether it was playing euchre with her club or bowling in various leagues. She also treasured her time at Walton Lake, where she was a lifetime member and created countless memories over the years.
Above all else, Margie’s greatest joy was her family. She was deeply devoted to her children and grandchildren, passing down cherished traditions and values to future generations. She rarely missed a grandchild’s extracurricular activity, always present with encouragement and pride. A loving and devoted wife, she often spoke with great pride of her remarkable 71-year marriage—a testament to a lifetime of love and commitment.
In addition to her husband Bud, Margie’s memories will be cherished by her children: Sheila (Terry) White of Lexington, Bethann (Johnny) Goodner of Harrison, TN., and Andrea (Kenn) Spencer of Ontario; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Greeting her at Heaven’s gates were her parents, Orie and Maude Garverick; her daughter, Stephanie Sorrick; her son, Mark Lamb; her son-in-law, Darrell Sorrick; her grandsons, Ryan Bryson and Daniel Sorrick; and her siblings, John Garverick and Maxine Light.
Friends may call on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Grace Baptist Church, 919 W. Thrush Ave. Crestline. The funeral service will begin immediately at 1:00pm with Pastor Chris Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Shauck Cemetery in Johnsville.
