Deborah S. Penhorwood, age 71 of Bellville, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Marion General Hospital. She was born on May 9, 1954, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Richard Plew and Susie (Shoup) Johnson, and on July 3, 1993, she married the love of her life John “Scott” Penhorwood.
Deb worked at Newman Technology for over 25 years, and she was a longtime member of Honey Creek Baptist Church in Bellville. She enjoyed taking care of her flower beds, spending time with her dogs, spending time with family, and serving with her sisters at church functions.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years Scott Penhorwood; her children Shannon (Nathan) Komisarek, Kandi (Terry) Zysek, and Kyle (Helen) Penhorwood; her grandchildren Colin, Ella, Madelynn, Jyllian, Maiyah, and Zy; and her stepfather Rick Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard Plew and Susie Johnson, as well as her brothers Doug and Randy Plew.
Family and friends may gather to honor Deb’s memory on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Honey Creek Baptist Church, 294 Honey Creek Rd. East, Bellville. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will take place at Bellville Cemetery at a later date.
