MANSFIELD — Got questions about the current status — and future — of the $20.3 million Main Street Corridor Improvement project?
Skip the online social media speculation and get your questions answered in person Thursday during an open house event at Downtown Mansfield Inc. at 128 N. Main St.
The open house will be on March 26 from 5 to 7 p.m.
A formal presentation on the project is not planned.
Instead, project engineers, city staff members and representatives from the construction team will be available at different stations set up to engage in conversations.

Residents may ask questions about traffic, access and construction phasing in specific areas. They can also view renderings of the finished streetscape. Residents may also share feedback on what they believe would make the remaining construction period smoother.
An Oct. 31 completion date for the massive project is still on track, officials have said. Work on the 18-month project began in March 2025, though it was slowed during winter months.
“We know construction has meant detours, noise and limited access and we appreciate your patience,” said Jennifer Kime, president and CEO of DMI.
“This is your chance to ask questions, see the progress and tell us what’s on your mind.”
DMI also shared closure updates as Stage 5 of the work begins.
— Main Street from Third Street to Park Avenue was closed on March 23 for approximately 45 days.
— Park Avenue between Diamond and Main streets will close March 30 for approximately 45 days.
“Throughout this process, downtown will remain open,” Kime said. “Free public parking is available in nearby lots and on the street and you can still access all your favorite shops and restaurants.”
DMI and city officials have said the effort is more than a beautification or streetscape project.
It’s a complete upgrade of Main Street from First to Sixth streets and Park Avenue from Main to Diamond streets, designed by K.E. McCartney & Associates of Mansfield with Kokosing Construction as the primary contractor.
Included in 2025 was the replacement of century-old water and storm sewer lines throughout the length of the project, an effort that led to closures of Main Street in places for extended periods of time.
The next phase between Park Avenue and Third Street, expected to take 60 days, will see:
— construction of brick crosswalks just north of North Park Street and on Park Avenue between Main and Diamond streets.
— construction of a brick and concrete intersection at Main Street and Park Avenue.
— Sidewalk construction.
— Installation of signal foundations.
— Construction of drainage improvements.Visit MainStreetMansfield.com for the latest news and progress reports.
