In the very early morning hours of October 20th, 2026, our beloved daughter, sister, mother and wife, Kellie Anne Felton, ended her mortal journey here upon Earth and entered her Heavenly Father’s Kingdom, welcomed by her Savior, Jesus Christ, and family who have gone before her. She is finally at peace, and for that we are grateful. She left this world surrounded by love and was received by that same love in Paradise. Her husband, John, was with her as she took her final breaths. Our light here on Earth may have dimmed, but the stars of Heaven have increased in their brightness.

Kellie was born on December 20, 1977 in Lancaster, Ohio to Keith and Valerie Kern.

From the beginning, she was a passionate person with a loving heart, a strong spirit and determination, yet she also understood the importance of trusting others and allowing people to be there for her when she needed them. She graduated from Worthington Killbourne High School, beginning a life journey that would bring her many experiences, cherished relationships, and most importantly, the blessing of becoming a wife and mother. Kellie worked in lending at Huntington Bank, where she devoted herself to her career. She had a way of meeting life head-on with courage and conviction, while keeping her heart open to the people she loved.

On May 25, 2018, Kellie married the love of her life, John Felton. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and the memories they made along the way. It was abundantly clear her greatest accomplishment and joy came from being a mom to her two sons, Brett and Kayden.

They were her heart, her joy, and her greatest source of pride. She loved them abundantly, nurtured them endlessly, and wanted nothing more than to see them happy and thriving. She loved seeing her sons grow, and watching their bond of brotherhood strengthen. She poured herself into being their mother, creating memories, sharing adventures, and loving them in the way only a mother can. The love she gave her boys will remain with them always, a part of who they are, and a reminder of just how deeply they were loved.

She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and in the things that brought her family together. A faithful OSU Buckeye football fan, on every touchdown they made, whether home or away, she would faithfully call her Father to join in celebrating. She also was a Green Bay Packers supporter and loved cheering on her teams. Her all-time favorite players were her Uncle Rex Kern, OSU quarterback and Brett Favre, GBP quarterback for whom she named her firstborn son, “Brett”.

Kellie was a wonderful cook, and her ribs and pork loin were among the meals that her family and friends will remember fondly. Food was another way she shared her love, bringing people together around the table and creating moments that would become treasured memories. She loved traveling to Florida, enjoying the opportunity to get away and make memories. She also loved trips to Cedar Point, where she could join her boys in riding thrill rides and embracing the excitement of the moment. Those adventures reflected so much of Kellie: her enthusiasm, her willingness to live fully, and her love of sharing experiences with her family. Above all, Kellie was a woman who loved deeply.

She was a daughter who was loved, a sister who shared in the bonds of family, a wife who found love and companionship, and a mother whose heart belonged to her boys. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, lessons, and love that will continue to be shared for generations.

Although her family and friends must now learn to navigate a world without her, Kellie’s life and love she gave are not lost. They live on in the hearts of those who knew her, in the memories of family adventures, in favorite meals shared around a table, in football games watched together, and in the countless ways she touched the lives of all of us and others.

Our faith gives us comfort in knowing that this earthly separation is not the end. We take solace in believing that Kellie has been welcomed home by her Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited with loved ones who went before her. While our hearts ache because we cannot hold her here, we find peace in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is finally at rest. Until we meet again, Kellie, may you rest in the loving arms of your Savior; Your light will forever shine in the hearts of those you leave behind.

Kellie is survived by her faithful husband who never left her side, John Felton; sons Brett Kolton Kern Orso and Kayden Roman Hunter Felton; Father and Other Mother, Keith and Sondra Kern; Valerie Praither, Mother; older brother, Scott and (Barb) Kern; twin brother, Tim and (Holly) Kern; step-sister and husband, Shelley and Rich Hauptschein; and Aunt and Uncle Nancy and Rex Kern; nieces and nephews, Isabella Kern, Adam Kern, Abigail Kern, Alex Kern, Trenton Kern, Tyler Kern, Taylor Ruff, Jack Ruff, and Ryan Ruff.
