Sandy K. Krichbaum, 73, of Shelby passed away Saturday October 17, 2026, at her residence. She was born on November 3, 1952, to Richard and Janis Shade.
Sandy was a member of Westwood Alliance Church. She was a devout Christian woman who faithfully studied the Bible, seeking a greater understanding of God’s truth. She often said her greatest joys were time spent with her family, raising her boys, reading, playing games and cards with her grandchildren.
She enjoyed riding and caring for her horses, tending to her flowers and garden. When her flowers came up in the spring, she would say her friends came back. She had a special bond with her sister, Shirley Rothweiler as they discussed the Bible and sermons. They always looked forward to their trips to Amish country and farm markets.
Sandy is survived by her husband, David Krichbaum; sons, Ben (Amanda) Krichbaum, Rory (Sarah) Krichbaum; five grandchildren; mother, Janis Shade; sister, Shirley Rothweiler; brothers, Terry Oertle, Ron Oertle, and Gary Shade.
She was proceeded in death by her son, Andrew Kirchbaum; and father, Richard Shade.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario, OH 44906. The funeral will be held on Friday October 23, 2026, at Westwood Alliance Church, 396 Willowood Dr E, Ontario, OH 44906 at 10:30 AM, officiated by Rev. Jeremy Muncy. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
