GALION — Galion Community Theatre will close its 2026 season with “Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors,” a fast-paced Gothic farce written by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen.

The play retains the original storyline of Bram Stoker’s classic, but adds mistaken identities, rapid costume changes, and a Count who takes himself far more seriously than anyone else on stage.

Eleven local actors will portray more than 20 characters, with some performers switching roles in seconds.

“Think of it as Dracula mixed with Monty Python,” director Todd Price said.

“It still has the fog and the creepy castle, but this version was created for laughing. ‘Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors’ would be a great way to celebrate Halloween without having to worry about losing sleep.”

The plot follows young Jonathan Harker, his fiancée, Lucy, and an unconventional vampire hunter attempting to stop Count Dracula from taking another bride.

Evening performances are scheduled for Oct. 23-24 and Oct. 30-31 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 1 at 2 p.m.

Patrons attending the Halloween show are encouraged to wear costumes. A prize for the best costume will be awarded at intermission.

The production is intended for mature audiences.

Tickets are available online at galiontheatre.org or by calling the box office at 419-468-2662.

“Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors” is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. The production is made possible by contributions from the Ohio Arts Council and support from Schmidt Security.
