Patty L. (Myers) Garcia, 82, of Mansfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 24, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late George Washington and Lydia Ellen (Searles) Myers.
Patty was married to Juan Garcia for over 45 years until his passing on February 21, 2009. She loved being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved family and sharing the Gospel message. She received Jesus as her Savior during a Billy Graham Telecast in the early 1970’s, became an active member of Mansfield Baptist Temple, and enjoyed helping and serving at the church, especially in the bus ministry which she was doing the Sunday before her passing. Patty was a loving and caring lady who never met a stranger and treated everyone as if they were family. Her passing has left a void, but we rejoice in the fact that she is no longer suffering and that we will see her again in Heaven.
Patty is survived by her five children Rosetta (David) Maskey of Nigeria, West Africia, Juanita (Jay) Miles of Elyria, John (Donna) Garcia, Antonio Garica, and Christina Koehler all of Mansfield; her grandchildren Christopher Coldwell, Jason (Jessica) Coldwell, Patricia (Brandon) Dembowiak, Matthew (Kristen) Koehler, Jonathon (Jennifer) Maskey, Carissa Maskey, Joshua Maskey, Joshua Koehler, Jacob Koehler, Cayla Maskey, and Justin Maskey; fifteen great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sandy Blake and Janice Bowman; many nieces and nephews; and several dear friends.
Along with her husband, Juan, Patty was preceded in death by an infant daughter Nancy; infant grandson Saul Michael Coldwell; her parents and grandparents; her brother, Charles Edward Myers; and three sisters, Betty Marjean Wray, Mary Lou Messer, and Mona Sue McGrath.
A private graveside service will take place at Mansfield Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Patty on her birthday, Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Road, Mansfield, OH. Since this is her birthday, the family would appreciate receiving cards filled with memories of Patty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Baptist Temple Bus Ministry, 752 N. Stewart Road, Mansfield, OH 44905.
