Roy Phillip Conn of Ontario passed away Sunday evening, October 4, 2026, at Ontario Estates Senior Living. He was 93 years old.
Roy was born on August 11, 1933, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, one of seven children of the late Virgie (Oney) and William “Bill” Conn. Roy moved to Mansfield, Ohio, and began working at the age of 18 at AK Steel, retiring after 40 years of service. He was a man of routine and ate breakfast at Bob Evans every morning for many years.
Roy is survived by several nieces and nephews; and two stepdaughters, Brenda Smith and Connie Saint.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Binion Conn; six siblings, Billy, Eugene, Ray, Charlie, and Carl Conn and Irene Brooks.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jay Stevens officiating. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
