Patricia E. Kash, age 64 of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born on August 13, 1962, in Manfield to Ervin and Evalene (Price) Thomas.
Patricia worked as a correctional officer at MANCI for 24 years. She had a passion for life, and she loved cooking for people. Patricia enjoyed going to the races and fishing with her two sons. Her greatest achievement was being a mother.
She is survived by her children Joe Nelson and Patrick Nelson; her mother Evalene Thomas; her siblings Deb (Ed) Wiseman, Ottis (Sarah) Thomas, and Drexel (Patti) Thomas; her sister-in-law Chris Thomas; and countless nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Ervin Thomas; her brothers Charlie Thomas and Wendell Thomas; her first husband Paris Nelson; and her second husband and the love of her life Harlan Kash, Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Clifford “Tippy” Price officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Church Cemetery.
