Ken Brand (76) passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in Ashland, OH. Born February 26, 1950, in Fairview Park, OH, Ken was the son of the late Kenneth Wilbur and Gertrude Charlotte Brand.
His family was at the heart of everything. He was a loving husband of 54 years to Marty, a proud father to Ken (Beth) Brand and Kelly (Rich) Greene, and a grandfather who treasured his time with Kenner, Riley and Oliver. Ken was also a brother to Richard (Wendy) Brand and Patricia (Rob) Finney and brother-in-law to Martin (decd.) (Jayne) Cool and Marshall (Chris) Cool. He loved his nieces and nephews Richard (Megan) Brandenburg, Tara (Les) Brand, Brian (Rachel) Finney, Troy (Sara) Finney, Meg Finney, Cathy (Micah) Ewing, Jonathan (Jenn) Cool, Caroline (David) Burns, Nathan (Elsbeth) Cool.
Ken attended Bowling Green State University for undergrad and later earned his M.B.A. from Baldwin Wallace College. His career in education included serving as business manager for Fairview Park City Schools, Parma City Schools and Cuyahoga Valley Career Center.
He was a long-time, faithful member of Strongsville United Methodist Church and later a member of Three Crosses United Methodist Fellowship in Butler.
Ken leaves behind a loving family who will miss his steady presence, his love of the outdoors, biking and camping, his spirited chili cook-offs, wood working projects and loyalty to Cleveland sports and Ohio State. The best parts of Ken will continue in the lives of those who knew him and loved him. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren and the traditions and memories he created.
A service to honor Ken’s life and faith will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Three Crosses United Methodist Fellowship in Butler. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clear Fork Christian Preschool. Donation envelopes will be available at the church or mailed to 115 Main Street, Butler, OH 44822.
