Darrell E. Walters, age 84 of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at his home. He was born on September 11, 1942, in Somerville, Ohio, to the late James M. and Opal V. (Quesenberry) Walters, and on August 6, 1966, he married the love of his life, Imogene (Myers).
Darrell proudly served his country in the United States Army, and he went on to work for the steel mill for 46 years. He loved the Lord and truly enjoyed bible study. He was a good man who was committed to always doing for others, and he loved his family and always made sure his wife was taken care of. He was a ring maker and a handyman. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Imogene Walters; his son Larry (Ana) Walters; his daughter Lisa May; his brother James (Georgia) Walters; his sisters Carol King and Beverly Lilo; his special grandchildren Bailey Maldonado and Brad May; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Opal Walters, one brother, and one sister.
Per Darrell’s wishes, no formal services will be observed. A private burial will take place at Oak Grove Memorial Park.
