Roy A. Leedy, age 69, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, Ohio, was born on April 8, 1957, to his parents, Albert Leedy and Juanita (Rhoads) Walter. He passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2026.
Roy was a no-excuses kind of guy, especially throughout his illness. His motto was that the mind is stronger than any other organ in the body. Strong in his faith, Roy always put God first. Above all, he loved his family deeply and cherished the time he spent with them.
Roy’s passion was helping others reach their goals. He affectionately called the people he trained his “superstars” and took great pride in encouraging and pushing them to become the best versions of themselves.
An avid outdoorsman, Roy enjoyed hunting trips with family and friends, exercising, target practice, hiking, and camping. Some of his greatest joys came from spending time watching his grandsons play sports, spending time with his granddaughters and creating memories with the people he loved.
Early in his career, Roy worked as a factory manager with Shiloh Corporation. In 2006, he purchased Ladies Super Fitness, which later became Fit 1 and eventually Ontario Fitness Club. Through his work in fitness, Roy continued doing what he loved most—motivating and encouraging others to become stronger, healthier, and more confident.
Roy was a member of Crossroads Community Church and Revival Church. His unwavering faith, love for his family, determination, and passion for helping others will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
Roy is survived by his wife of 22years, Mae Nar (Chin) Leedy; children, Josh (Kimberly) Leedy, Dennette (Erik) Santamaria, and Alexandra Leedy; grandchildren, Graham, Brooks, Aria, Francesca, and Angiolina; sister, Lori Marcom; brother-in-law Bill Fickes; brother-in-law, Hong (Ling); sister-in-law, Mae Lae (Tim); brother-in-law, King; nephew, Tony Fickes; nieces, Kristina (Brian) Lalley, Jeen and Been (Cesar Gutierrez); nephew, Caleb (Allison) Barney; and great nephews and great nieces, Andrew, Avery, Reece, and Miles.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Danielle “Dani” Leedy; sister, Judy Fickes; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tong (Susie) Chin; and brother-in-law, Saint.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Life Celebration Reception Center, 129 S. Main Street, Mansfield, OH 44902. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mansfield Cemetery.
