Michael R Thomas, age 67, of Butler peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2026, where he got his wings. He was born July 22, 1959 in Loudonville, Ohio to the late Harry and Jean Thomas. On July 5, 2001 he met the Love of his life and got married July 5, 2014 to his true love, Tammy Wilklow.
Mike retired from J&B Acoustical, then decided to work part-time for the same company that he worked for for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State football teams. He was also a big fan of NASCAR rooting for the number 5 Kyle Larson to win. Above all he loved his family and his son, Cody and stepdaughter’s, Melissa and Leisa and five grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years Tammy Thomas; son, Cody; stepdaughters, Melissa (Scott) Foster and Leisa (Justin) Lorenzetti; sister, Michele (Dale) Watt; sister-in-law, Kim Thomas; five grandchildren, Zane, Remington, Ellie, James and Savannah; many nieces and nephews; best friend Matt (Stacey) Oswalt and his favorite four-legged companions, Max and Blitz
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry W and Jean Thomas; brother, Larry Thomas; daughter, Jessica Marie and Nephew, Lee.
A memorial service will be held at the Open Bible Church, 1150 Rayfield Dr. Mansfield, Ohio on Friday, August 28 at 1 PM. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Ohio Health ICU and hospice for their excellent care that they took of Mike. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 1650 Lakeshore Dr., Columbus, OH 43204.
