Ricky Lee Fowler, 66, of Perrysville, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous one year-and-thirteen-day battle with cancer.
Born December 21, 1959, in Mansfield, Ricky was the son of Clair and Roxanna (Oswalt) Fowler. He spent his childhood in Jeromesville before moving to Perrysville, where he attended Loudonville Schools.
At the age of 15, Ricky first met Toni Lape. She would become the love of his life and his only serious girlfriend. The two were married on July 22, 1978, and together they built a life centered around love, family, hard work, and devotion. They raised two daughters, Amanda and Melissa, and Ricky took immense pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and father figure to those he loved.
Hardworking would be an understatement when describing Ricky. He worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family, believing that providing meant far more than earning a living. He gave of himself through sacrifice, patience, generosity, and a genuine love for his family. Ricky was a provider in every sense of the word, always willing to work a little harder or give a little more to make sure Toni and the girls had what they needed—and often what they wanted.
Ricky’s love for his family could be seen in the life they created together. Their three-acre homestead was once home to as many as 30 goats, multiple ponies, and an assortment of other animals. The property became something of a local landmark—the place on Route 97 with all the goats. Those driving by, would often stop to take pictures. For Ricky, however, it was simply home: a place where his family could enjoy the animals, make memories, and have everything he could provide for them.
He will be remembered most for his unwavering dedication to his family and his desire to spoil his children and grandchildren. Ricky was a man his family was proud of—a steady presence, a protector, and someone they could always count on.
Ricky is survived by his beloved wife, Toni (Lape) Fowler; daughters, Amanda (Mike) Conrad of Butler and Melissa Feeman of Butler; grandchildren, Rebekah (Ryan) Evans, Caleb Conrad, Kyla Feeman, and Charlee Feeman; brothers, Rex Fowler, Ronny Fowler, and Russell (Linda) Fowler; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members; as well as his beloved dogs Olive and Bo.
In addition to his parents, Clair and Roxanna Fowler, Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Fowler; and his father- and mother-in-law, Larry and Louise Lape.
Private graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Perrysville.
