Rosa Jane Schwartz, age 69, of Mansfield, OH, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at her home with her loved ones. She was born March 12, 1957, in Mansfield, OH to Reverand Daniel E. and Frances B. (Dotson) Bates.
Jane retired from Richland Newhope in 2007 after 22 years of dedicated service. She loved her family dearly and absolutely adored her grandbabies, who brought her so much joy. She played the piano at Country Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Jane had a love for the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed flowers, relaxing by her pool, watching fireworks, thrift shopping, and sitting on the back deck with her coffee. She was very social and loved spending time with friends. She also found great joy in baking and cooking for the people she loved.
Jane enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Maine, and she had a special appreciation for her jewelry and, of course, her beloved popcorn. Her warmth, generosity, and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ronald “Steve” Schwartz; children, Michael (Season) Erwin, Melissa Erwin, and Megan Feagin (J.D.); grandbabies, Mason (Destanie), Kelsey, Emma, Graysen, Marissa, Addy, Malea, and Roslyn; sister-in-law, Debbie Bates; and her Schnauzer, Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Daniel Bates; brother Pastor David Bates; and her companion Schnauzer, Belle.
