MANSFIELD, OHIO. — The Mansfield Symphony Orchestra will hold auditions for select positions for its 2026-2027 season on Sunday, September 20, at the Renaissance Theatre, located at 138 Park Avenue West in Mansfield.

Third Flute/Piccolo
Fourth Horn
Second Trumpet
Second Trombone
Bass Trombone/Third
Principal Harp
Principal Timpani
Per-service compensation for the 2026-2027 season is $93.95 for principal players and $68.56 for section players.
The Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, based in Mansfield, Ohio, is the resident orchestra of the Renaissance Performing Arts Association. Each season, the MSO performs approximately seven concert sets between September and June, including subscription concerts, education concerts, and community-centered performances that serve audiences throughout North Central Ohio.
The orchestra is also joined throughout the season by the Mansfield Symphony Chorus, bringing together instrumental and choral artistry for large-scale symphonic works.
In addition to its subscription season, the MSO is committed to accessible community performances, including the annual Classical Mansfield opening concert, a free event that invites the community to experience live symphonic music in a welcoming setting.
Most recently, the orchestra performed 1776: in Concert at Mansfield’s downtown Brickyard, a free community performance partially funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and featuring performers from Broadway, television, and film, including Steve Higgins of The Tonight Show, Brian Stepanek of Green Book and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and Jeff Richmond of The Four Seasons, Mean Girls: The Musical, and 30 Rock.

Submissions will be acknowledged when received, and qualified candidates will receive an audition invitation. Further correspondence will be by email only; no phone calls, please.
All applicants are required to demonstrate either U.S. citizenship or legal eligibility to accept employment with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra. Members are responsible for arranging any necessary travel and accommodations for service sets.
Successful candidates must become and remain members in good standing of the American Federation of Musicians in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Audition repertoire will be provided to qualified candidates upon scheduling.
