MANSFIELD — The 15th annual Power of the Purse event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center.
What is Power of the Purse?
Power of the Purse is United Way of Richland County’s signature fundraising event – a fun-filled evening where attendees bid on purses, unique live auction items, a variety of silent auction items, raffles and mystery gifts, all while supporting our local community.
It is a night of fellowship, generosity, and a whole lot of fun – and every dollar stays right here in Richland County supporting programs and initiatives that address basic needs, community health, local youth, and provide services to families.
Power of the Purse also supports The Big Red Bookshelf, which promotes early childhood literacy in Richland County.
The Big Red Bookshelf accepts new and gently-used books and redistributes them through 12 bookshelves located throughout the county and through a traveling bookshelf that goes to events and programing during the year.
New in 2026, the program will be expanding to work with programs and agencies that distribute diapers to include books and literacy materials to young families.
15 years, one fabulous party. . .
2026 Marks the 15th year of Power of the Purse and we are celebrating it with a night of Rubies & Roses. Rubies & Roses are the traditional 15th anniversary gem and flower, respectively.
They represent love, passion and devotion and they are a testament the longevity of this event. We can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with you!
