Barbara Kay Garrison, age 78, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 in her home.
She was born on August 2, 1947, in Lake Wales, Florida to the late Donald and Margaret (Sharp) Garrison. Barb graduated from Lexington High School and Ohio State University with a degree in art. She spent most of her career at OSU Medical Center as a Pharmacy Tech and later in her career as a medical coder, both for the James Cancer Center. Barb loved home remodeling, gardening, working on various crafts and art projects. She was an avid Buckeye fan that lived in mostly OSU T-shirts. In her honor, she will be buried in an OSU urn. Her family knows she will be smiling in her new resting place. Barb has 1 niece and 2 nephews and could always be counted on to sit in the stands and cheer them on all the way through college.
Barb is survived by her sisters Debi Garrison (Amy Weiner) and Brenda Munro (Todd) Kurek; three nieces and nephews, Tyler Munro, Alissa Munro and Chase Munro.
The family held a celebration of life in Barb’s home on Saturday, July 18th. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Carmen Ramirez Rodriquez for the excellent care she provided Barb and AccentCare Hospice for their support.
