BELLVILLE — Sentec Systems LLC will celebrate both its 10th anniversary and the grand opening of its new Bellville office with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15. The new facility is located at 72 Main St., Bellville.
The technology services company provides managed IT services, cybersecurity solutions, network infrastructure, business telephone systems, and tech consulting for businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits throughout Ohio.
The company’s roots are deeply tied to Richland County. Co-owner Jason Poth is a lifelong resident and Clear Fork graduate who previously worked as a systems engineer for a large local firm. Poth launched Sentec Systems in 2016 after local business owners and vendors expressed frustration with the slow response times, poor customer service, and inflated prices of existing providers.
Co-owner Aaron Rasmus, who grew up in a military family and moved to Richland County in 2007, joined the firm a year later. Rasmus said he was motivated to join the company after witnessing small organizations and nonprofits being sold expensive technology products they did not need or could not afford.
According to Rasmus, one of the primary gaps the five-person company fills is eliminating the standard “finger-pointing” between different technology vendors.
“If the phones were down, the phone vendor blamed the IT company,” Rasmus said of the industry standard. “If the network was having issues, the IT company blamed the internet provider. Clients were left in the middle trying to figure out who was responsible.”
Sentec Systems was built to provide a single point of accountability, managing all infrastructure under one roof so clients can focus on their daily operations. Beyond business services, the owners emphasize local civic engagement, including serving on local boards, volunteering, and helping area nonprofits stretch their technology budgets.
“At the end of the day, we enjoy helping the ‘little guy’ succeed,” Rasmus said. “That’s been part of our philosophy since the beginning and continues to guide how we serve our clients and our community.”
The ribbon cutting will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Sentec Systems, 72 Main St. in Bellville.
