Glenn Eldon Hoffman, 94, completed his journey on earth to walk forever with his beloved Lord and Savior on July 8, 2026 at OhioHealth Mansfield.
Glenn’s life began on July 28, 1931 in Richwood, Union County, Ohio. He was the 2nd child born to Roy E and Pauline (Rector) Hoffman.
A graduate of Mt Zion High School, Bucyrus, he would go on to proudly serve in the US Army during the Korean War. Following his time in the army, Glenn returned to Bucyrus to marry his beloved. Glenn wed JoAnn Barth on April 10, 1954 in Upper Sandusky. They shared 52 years together before her passing on October 31, 2006.
Glenn and JoAnn raised four beautiful children on their farm in Morrow County. He instilled his children the value of hard work and a job well done. To support his growing family, Glenn worked at Bucyrus Ice Company until he was hired by North Electric in Galion. He would work at North Electric until they closed the Galion facility. He retired from Carter Machine in 1993.
January 8, 1971 was a date he never forgot. This was the day he made Jesus the Lord of his life. From that day forward he worked diligently sharing the love of Jesus with those to whom he made contact. He was blessed minister in Haiti, Columbia, Spain and India. JoAnn joined him on most of these trips. He was a part of the Hurricane Katrina cleanup in Mississippi in the spring of 2006. He also conducted weekly Bible Studies at area care facilities. Glenn loved to read the Bible. He would read and spend hours studying maps of the Holy Land and Bible & World Event timelines. When his daughters suggested he enroll in classes at Ohio Central Bible College, Iberia, he eagerly accepted the challenge. He received diploma in Biblical Studies just shy of his 82nd birthday. He went on to get his Ministers’ License.
Glenn is survived by daughters Ilona (Thomas) Kolakovich, Laura (David Mark) Reed, and Diana Hoffman. Grandchildren: Peter (Erin) Marshall, Cindy (Mike) Spencer, Melody (Daniel) Wirick, Karen (Gary) Lear, Debra (Jon) Kauffman, David (Deana) Marshall, Sarah (Thomas) McGuin, Erik (Yiqian) Marshall, Mikel Marshall, Cheryl (Jack) Roher, Jonathan (Carol) Stroup, Suzy (Alex) Drummond, David (Amy) Reed. Great- Grandchildren: Lizz, Morgan, Andrew, Tyler (Kyndi), Killian, Tobin, Lexi, Rachel (Sterling), Mallory, Evan, Gavin, Max, Eva, Jonah, Becky, Abby, Charlotte, Jackson, Luke, Eric, Olivia and Lila. Great- Great Grandchildren Easton and Tate. Sisters: Nancy Stock, Hazel Dockham, Bonnie (Rob) Waterer, Linda (Paul) Holcomb.
In addition to the love of his life, JoAnn, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas who died in a car crash July 14, 1974. Siblings: Bill Hoffman Sr., Raymond Hoffman, Harold Hoffman, Robert Hoffman. Sons-in-law: Tony Marshall and Mike Stroup.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Wesley Chapel, 240 S Market St, Galion, Ohio. Funeral services will take place at Wesley Chapel 11:00 am Wednesday, July 15, 2026 with Pastor Joe Stafford Officiating. Burial will follow at the Iberia Cemetery.
