Ruth Ann Metzger Kaple Cameron, age 84, of Galion passed away Sunday July 5, 2026 at Ontario Estates.
Born November 6, 1941 in Shelby, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Minnie (Forrest) Metzger.
Ruth worked as a home health care aid and was an excellent caregiver. She had a strong faith and was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Galion and had attended St Francis Academy as a freshman and sophomore in high school and was a graduate of Shelby High School. She was the backbone of the family and family came first to her. Ruth was infamous for her “Grandma days.” She was an amazing mother and grandmother and was a generous and giving person. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and reading. Ruth enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends Mike and Carolynn Sherer. She and her husband Ted were members of the Galion Moose where they were avid dancers.
She is survived by her children: Terri (Chad Mulford) Godby, Randy (Kitty) Kaple, Mark (Lisa) Kaple, Paul (Angie) Kaple and Greg (Missy) Kaple, grandchildren: Allison (Anthony) Peters, Andrew (Ria) Godby, Jacob (Gloria) Kaple, Garett (Kristen) Kaple, Meghan (Jonathan) Dworin, Ashly (Michael) Bell, Lyndsey Burket, Makayla (Aaron) Becks, Andrew Trenaray, Alec Kaple, Galen Kaple, Madison Kaple, Gabby Kaple and Hayden Kaple, great grandchildren: Asher, Gray, Keller, Wesley and Eliza Kaple, Ross Dworin, Phoenix, Penelope, Presley and Phaedra Burket and sister-in-law Edna Vanderkarr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ted Cameron, her first husband Gary Kaple and her brothers: Bill Manaugh and Forrest Metzger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday July 13, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 N. Liberty Street, Galion with Father Paul Fahrbach officiating followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 3:00 – 6:00 PM Monday July 13, 2026 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833.
