Larry Dean Stoffer, 83, formerly of Shelby, Ohio, and most recently of Owenton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on June 30, 2026, in his stepdaughter’s home.

Larry was born on January 27, 1943, in Shelby, Ohio, to Albert and Florence (Reynolds) Stoffer. He graduated with the Shelby Senior High School Class of 1961 before proudly serving his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. Following his military service, Larry enjoyed a long career with Copperweld, affectionally known by many as “The Tuby”, before retiring. He was also a proud member of the American Legion O’Brien Post 326 in Shelby, Ohio.

On November 30, 1974, Larry married the love of his life, Ann (Preston) Stoffer, and together they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage.

Larry found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved Ohio sports, took great pride in caring for his yard, and, above all else, treasured spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him tremendous happiness, and the love they shared with him was one of the greatest blessings of his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ann Stoffer, his loving stepchildren, Bryan (Michelle) Day and Denise Day; his sister, Jane (Ronald) LaBarge; his cherished grandchildren, Brandyn Day, Marilyn Day, Simon (De Lena) Hankins, Ariah Hankins, and Garrett (Kelsie) Hankins; his adored great-grandchildren, Arden Hankins, Rosemary Hankins, Waylon Hankins, and Sloane Hankins; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Florence Stoffer; his brothers, Harold Stoffer and Robert Stoffer; his sisters, Marilyn Clark and Doris Payne-Biglin; and his lifelong best friend, Jerry Fichter.

In keeping with Larry’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Larry’s memory.

Larry will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of family, his dedication to his country, and the kindness he showed to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
