Frederick O. Mueller, 89, of Lexington, Ohio, left the pains of this earth late Tuesday, June 30, 2026 to enter into God’s presence.

Born on February 27, 1937, in Mansfield, Ohio, Fred was the son of Otto and Tess (Kinkle) Mueller. He was raised with a strong faith that remained the foundation of his life and later re-located with his family on the land where he resided for over seventy years. In 1957 he married Phyllis Lehnhart and they were blessed with five children and five grand-children.

Fred worked as a sanitarian for 30 years with the Richland County Health Department retiring in 1990 to enjoy his love of farming. Fred found great joy in caring for his gentleman’s farm. He loved working outdoors, whether tending to the property, climbing onto his tractor for another project, or spending long summer days in the woods. He found peace in God’s creation and enjoyed the beauty of the land entrusted to him.

A devoted member of the Apostolic Christian Church on Middle Bellville, Fred faithfully served his church family in many capacities over the years. He was a longtime member of the men’s choir, affectionately known as the “grandpa” of the choir, where his faithful presence and steady encouragement were appreciated by generations of singers. He had a great joy in singing for others even in his last years without much prodding, he even sang right up to his last full day on this earth.

His commitment to serving others extended beyond the church walls as one of the original supporters of the Apostolic Christian Retirement Center. Fred signed the first loan that helped make the retirement center a reality and later served faithfully as its secretary.

More than anything, Fred will be remembered as a man of unwavering faith, quiet humility, and faithful service. His life reflected diligence, integrity, and a servant’s heart. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to God, love for his family, and an example of a life well lived.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Phyllis Mueller; children David (Michelle) Mueller, Wes (Courtney) Mueller, Arlene Mueller and Anne (Michael) Frazier; grandchildren James F., Sarah, Maxwell, Evan and Grace; siblings Barbara Abraham, Ralph Mueller and Betty (John) Armrose.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Frederick and Theresa (Kinkle) Mueller; son Fredrick “Rick” James and his wife Cindy Mueller; brother Dennis and sister-in-law Jeanne Mueller and sister-in-law Becky Mueller.

The Mueller family will welcome guests Monday, July 6, 2026 from 10 am-11am in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where his funeral services will begin promptly at 11 am. A graveside service will follow at Lexington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers; contributions in Fred’s memory may be made to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
