Sammy Chris Collins, age 75, of Mansfield went home to be with the Lord late Sunday evening, June 28, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born to the late Mabel (Thompson) and Lentford Collins on December 11, 1950, in Carter County, Kentucky. Sammy was employed as a construction professional for most of his life. He married the love of his life, Maureena Keaton on July 30, 1977. He was a member of Christian Life Church for many years. Sammy enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and growing his own produce, and fishing. He cherished his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him much joy. Sammy enjoyed every adventure and memory created with his wife of 53 years.

He is survived by his wife, Maureena Collins; two children, Crystal Collins and Nathan (Rose) Collins; three grandchildren, Jacob Billheimer, Jared Billheimer and Havana Cooper; a brother, Clyde (Sandy) Collins; brothers-in-law, Doyle, David, Doyan, and Danny; one sister-in-law, Tamara; and many cherished family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Collins; and baby sister, Deloris Ann Collins.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held at Christian Life Church, 961 Springmill Street, Mansfield, on Monday, July 6, at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Pastor Troy Wooten will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
