Donald E. Frontz, age 78 of Mansfield, was called Home on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Avita Health System – Ontario Hospital. He was born on October 8, 1947, in Mansfield to the late Virgil E. and Dorothy (Haas) Frontz.
Donnie worked for Crane Plumbing for many years, and in his younger days, he played the drums for Firebirds, a country band that performed all over Ohio and up around the lakes. He enjoyed working on cars, piddling around in the yard, and helping his wife with their garden. He was still mowing the lawn and enjoying his yard work just a week ago.
Above all, he was proud of his family, and he loved spending time with them. He truly enjoyed everything he had in his life. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Donna (Jones) Frontz; his sons David (Amy) Frontz and Daniel (Tammy) Frontz; his brother John Mearl Frontz; his stepbrother David (Michelle) Brown; his stepsister Carol (Ronnie) Carsner; his stepsister-in-law Kathy Brown; his grandchildren Clay (Mikayla) Frontz, Caitlynn (Chris) Hughes, and Coutney Frontz; his great-grandsons Weston Frontz and Logan Hughes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Dorothy Frontz and his stepbrother Terry Brown.
A private burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
