Ruth Ann Harris, age 81, passed away on June 4, 2026, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born on November 6, 1944, and was raised in Bulan, Kentucky. Ruth was a longtime resident of Amherst, Ohio, before spending her later years in Sunbright, Tennessee, where she lived with her sister, Betty Jack.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Donald Harris, with whom she shared four children. She is survived by: Granville Lloyd Harris (Christine), Teresa Ann Antonopoulos (Tony), Kimberley Christine Nagyvathy (Frank), and Tamara Diane Griggs.
Ruth was a devoted grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, each of whom brought her deep joy. She treasured every visit and every chance to share a story, a meal, or a moment of laughter.
She was an exceptional cook whose meals became cherished family traditions. Ruth also spent many hours crocheting, creating blankets and keepsakes stitched with love and patience.
She found comfort in the simple, steady parts of life, especially watching the birds outside her window. May she rest in the peace of the mountains that shaped her, held and guided home by the unchanging hand that steadied her life.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Berlin Heights Cemetery. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Harris family.
