James C. Huston, age 93, lifelong resident of Shiloh, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026 at his home. He was the son of James Huston and Mary (Welsh) Huston-Cottengaim, born in Shelby, Ohio on November 12, 1932.
A Shiloh High School graduate, Jim went on to serve his country by enlisting in the Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his return home, Jim worked on his dairy farm before being employed with UPS. He also founded H and B Forge Company in Mansfield.
Jim was a member of Shenandoah Christian Church, a past Commander of the Shiloh American Legion, a 32nd degree Mason with the Shiloh Masonic Lodge and a NMLRA member.
In his earlier years, Jim enjoyed participating in the Adario Township plays. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life that included woodworking, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors, especially bird watching. Jim had a strong interest in history and enjoyed learning about the past. He also liked collecting and looking for antiques and was an avid reader. These interests brought Jim much enjoyment and will be remembered by family and friends.
Jim is survived by his children, Mary Barber, JoAnne Mabry, Judie Kinsey and Chuck Huston; eight grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and three nieces, Karol Tracey, Nancy Featheringill and Pat White.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Huston; granddaughter, Dixie Huston; significant other, Barb Rowe; and two brothers and two sisters.
