MANSFIELD — Zetta Anderson, a Mansfield Senior High school graduate and a senior at Miami University, has been hired as Mayor Jodie Perry’s summer intern.
Anderson began in early June and is already gaining firsthand experience in municipal government and public service, the mayor said in an emailed press release.
Anderson, who is studying marketing at Miami, was selected from a competitive pool of applicants citywide, Perry said.
During her internship, she will collaborate with senior staff on key city initiatives, attend public meetings, and support the mayor’s office in its day-to-day operations.
“She is going to be assisting with many projects this summer including our America 250 celebration, communications work, our (Community Improvement Corporation), and more. She will also have an opportunity to learn from and visit many of the different departments we have in the city,” Perry said in a social media post.
“This internship reflects our commitment to cultivating the next generation of civic leaders and giving talented young people a meaningful opportunity. We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Anderson to our team,” Perry said.
“I was lucky enough to have several internships back when I was younger, and they all gave me terrific opportunities. I am excited to make this a regular part of the mayor’s office going forward.”
