Ruth Ann Harris passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026 at OhioHealth Mansfield. She was 72.
She was born on October 30, 1953 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late James and Josephine (Huffman) Clinage.
Ruth was the type of person who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, and could often be found sitting at the table enjoying a cup of coffee or her ice water, watching a Little House on the Prairie marathon, or attempting to improve her green thumb in her garden. But above all else, she loved spending as much time as possible with her family. It didn’t matter what the activity, she was her happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved most.
She is survived by her children Sheila (Kevin) Hilliard, Raeann Peppard, Ray (Shannon) Harris, Eb (Stacey) Harris, step-son Phil (Sheila) Nelson, sister-in-law Susan Clinage, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her best four legged friend Summer.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Ray Harris, Sr. who passed in 2017, daughter Christine Seward, step-son Matt Harris, grandson Eb Jimmie Harris, granddaughter Erica Seward, great-granddaughter Kaley Seward, sister Carol (Luke) Brewer, sister Betty (Earl) Brewer, brother Robert Clinage, brother James Clinage, sister Helen Clinage, nephew Earl Brewer Jr., and nephew Robert Tesca.
Friends may call on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 4 to 7 pm at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Marion Avenue Chapel, where a funeral service honoring Ruth will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 11 am. Burial in Mansfield Cemetery to follow.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Shannon Harris, who was Ruth’s caregiver for many years.
