Betty Norma Pipes, age 90, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on May 18, 2026 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born on March 13, 1936 in Richland County the daughter of the late Delbert J. and Mary E (Hammett) Farst, she was one of 12 children.
Betty attended The Church in Mansfield and her mission in life was for everyone to “Believe in Jesus”.
Her interests included her family, her church family, gardening, flowers, mushroom hunting, and fishing. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her and whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her children and spouses, Kurt Pipes (Deanna Hoffman) and Denise (John) Shumate; grandchildren, Angela Shumate, Klinton Pipes, Kyla Pipes (fiancé Matt); sister, Beverly Clever and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Dennis Pipes; brothers, Richard (Lois) Farst, Don and (Frances) Farst, Paul (Bev) Farst, Milton (Eileen) Farst and Kenneth Farst; brother-in-law, Dave Clever; sisters, Selma (Jay) Bishop, Nina (Harlan) Mowry, Mary Jane (Medford) Riddle, Marjorie (Paul) Dylan, Nancy (Tom) Llewellyn.
