Mary Kay Daniel, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at OhioHealth Shelby Hospital in Shelby, Ohio, just days after celebrating her 72nd birthday.

Born on May 26, 1954, in Willard, Ohio, to the late Herman and Patricia (Storck) Daniel, Mary’s life was marked by dedication, kindness, and a deep faith.

A graduate of Shelby High School and Bowling Green University, Mary’s journey took her from her childhood home in Willard to Kansas, where she served the community as a Driver License Examiner. During her time there, her passion for tennis shone brightly as she earned a remarkable third-place finish in the state United States Tennis Association competition. Eventually, her path led her back to Ohio, where she continued her dedicated work with the State of Ohio as a Driver License Examiner.

Mary was a beacon of generosity and service, offering her time and heart to Habitat for Humanity and various charitable causes close to her. Above all, her greatest joy and strength came from her unwavering love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who remained central to her life and spirit.

Mary’s light, faith, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She leaves behind her brothers, Greg and Paula (Roman) Daniel of Columbus, Ohio, and Bill and Carol (Clark) Daniel of Columbus, Ohio; her “chosen family,” Aileen (Bobby) Stewart of Shelby, Ohio, and Brett (Carey) Slater of Bellville, Ohio, along with many other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Marcia Ann.
