Roger L Kilgore, 78, of Lexington, Ohio passed away on May 23, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 29, 1947 in Mansfield, Ohio the son of the late Earl Kilgore and Anna (Armstrong). On December 10, 1966 he married Arlene Fay Welch at the Open Bible Church of Mansfield and they shared 59 years together. Roger worked for 43 years with the Lexington Street Department.
His proudest achievement was his family. Nothing brought him more joy than being a father and grandfather and spending time with his children and grandchildren, and found joy coaching, supporting, and watching them play sports throughout the years. What made him unique was not just what he did, but who he was. Someone whose personality, values and love for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Roger is survived by his wife, Arlene; sister, Betty Moore; brothers, Larry (Paula) Kilgore and Bryon Kilgore; daughter, Lisa Holland; son, Stephen Kilgore; grandchildren, Ericka (Evan) Montgomery, Tyson Holland, RJ Kilgore and Joel Kilgore; great grandkids, Ava Putnam, Wrenley Montgomery and Vivian May.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Arleigh & Fay Welch; sister, Agnes Miner; brothers, Charles Kilgore and Gary Kilgore.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
