Kathy Lynn (Walls) Darson, “Kohavah Judah”, 53, passed away on May 24, 2026, at OSU James Hospital, Columbus. She was born on September 28, 1972, in Elyria to the late Thomas G. Walls and Rosie L. (Davis) (Walls) Davison.
A graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and The Ohio State University, she had worked at H&R Block as a manager, Newman Tech, Marco Photo, Silverman’s, and Long John Silvers.
Kathy cherished reading and researching the Bible, fishing, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She was an entrepreneur at heart who loved line dancing and traveling — especially to Detroit, her playground, and Cancun, one of her favorite getaways.
She was an amazing mother, sister, and friend — loyal to the core, truly “Ride or Die.” If you earned her love and trust, she stood by you completely. But if you crossed her, she was finished with you. Kathy was hilariously funny, a self-proclaimed movie critic, a perfectionist, and incredibly strong-willed. Simply put, she was awesome.
Loved by many, Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She fought courageously through many health battles, including cancer from 2020–2026, Lupus from 2024–2026, Reynaud’s Syndrome throughout her life, and cervical cancer. Through it all, she remained strong, resilient, and unforgettable.
Kathy is survived by her three children: Tamacio V. Walls, Tamiya K. Walls, and Tamaira R. Walls; grandchild, Zayian Ky’Rel Cherry; siblings, Cynthia A. (Walls) Houston, Christopher V. Walls, Ma’nisha Walls (Zaharah Thomas) (Michigan), and Thomas Walls (Michigan); nieces and nephews, India C. Houston, Ibn Abdul Jaliyl, Mahasin Eileen, Jannah Eileen, and Saleh Uthman.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday June 6, 2026, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario, OH 44906. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
