Rachel L. Backensto, 48 of Ashland passed from this life on Thursday morning, May 21, 2026 in Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center following a brief battle with Cancer.
She was born on May 22, 1977 in Ashland the daughter of Michael and Kathy (nee Kline) Ramsey.
Rachel graduated from Crestview High School, Class of 1996.
She was employed as an assistant manager of Duke & Dutchess, and was previously a correctional office in Marion for many years.
Throughout her life, she was great lover of the outdoors always enjoying canoeing and vegetable and flower gardening. Rachel also enjoyed crafting.
In addition to her loving parents of Ashland, Rachel is survived by three children, Randy Stackhouse of Mansfield, Sarah (Derek) Senokozlieff of Mansfield, and Hayden Stackhouse of Bayreuth, Germany; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and long lasting life time friend, Jenni Baker.
In keeping with her wishes, a Celebration of Rachel’s life will be held at a later date.
