Kevin Lee McQuate, 68 of Ashland went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, May 22, 2026 in Brethren Care Village.
He was born on April 25, 1958 in Ashland, the son of Marvin L. and Marjorie L. (nee Hootman) McQuate.
Kevin graduated from Mapleton High School, Class of 1976 where he holds a 50 year record for the high jump. Kevin furthered his education at Hocking Technical College.
He married his high school sweetheart, the former, Melinda “Mindy” McKay on December 17, 1977.
Kevin retired after more than 40 years from MT Business Technologies.
He was a devoted member and elder of Ashland Grace, where he played drums in the Ashland Grace worship team for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mindy McQuate of Ashland; his mother, Marjorie McQuate of Ashland; his children, Seth (Jenn) McQuate, Scott McQuate, Leah (Adam) Donatini, Jenna (Kenton) Smith; grandchildren, Job, Lilah, Silas, Phoebe, and Violet McQuate, Braden and Ayla Donatini, and Eva and Jack Smith; and his siblings, Julie (Jim) Ringler, Lisa (Steve) McPherson, and Dan (Kim) McQuate.
Kevin is preceded in death by his father, Marvin McQuate.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Dan Allan presiding. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ashland Grace Church, 1142 West Main Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
