Lillie M. Payne, age 86, of Plymouth, Wisconsin passed away, Wednesday May 20, 2026, at Avita Galion Hospital.
Born March 28, 1940 in Sarton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hobart Thomas and Hettie Weikle.
Lillie was a woman of great faith. She enjoyed joking and having fun. She loved her family and was a great care taker to them as well as many others. She was a member of Bellville Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and taught girls auxiliary and Bible school. She loved gardening and the outdoors, particularly the mountains of West Virginia. She worked for many years at Hi-Stat Manufacturing in Lexington.
She is survived by her children: Veronica Blake, Douglas (Linda) Payne, and Justine (Fred) Johnson, grandchildren: Ellison Hunt, Everette (Kristin) Hunt, Ellen (Brian) Auten, Eva Hunt, Justin Clothier, Eric (Rachael) Payne, Lisa Huss, and Josh Johnson, 17 greatly loved great-grandchildren, and siblings: Kenneth Thomas, Alton Thomas, Linda Anderson, Sharon Hutchison, Violet Baden, Wendy Carter and Carol Ann Rosier
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Junior, Ivan and Michael Thomas, sister Darlene Johnson and great- grandchildren Cora and Liam Hunt.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Wednesday May 27, 2026 at Grace Brethren Church 1055 Winchester Road, Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Brian Auten officiating. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
