Barbara L. Schaefer, age 93 of Lexington, Ohio passed away on April 17, 2026 at the Waterford Assisted Living in Mansfield, Ohio following an extended illness. She was born on May 21, 1932 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Willis & Helen (Rachel) Tryon.
On July 16, 1955 she married Judson A. Schaefer at the St Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Ohio and they shared 69 years together. Barbara worked many years as a waitress at several restaurants including the Tiffin and Toffee House. She loved her family and friends and also enjoyed reading. She loved Christmas with her family. What makes Barbara unique is that she was the third of sixteen children.
She is survived by one son, Steven (Sandra); grandchildren, Chris, Kevin (Amanda), Kylene (Jason) Gibson, Lindsay (Charles) Warrick, Ashley (Jason) Stoltz and Justin (Ashlee) Schaefer; great grandchildren, Landon, Colin and Paxton Stoltz and Chloe Schaefer; sisters, Marlene (Bob) Huffman, Peggy Ritter and brother, Larry Tryon and daughters-in-law, Cindy Schaefer and Debi Schaefer.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Judson; two sons, Gregory and Thomas and seven sisters and five brothers.
Burial was held in Lexington Cemetery.
