MANSFIELD — A woman hiked the trails, accompanied by her dog trotting along on a leash.

A mom and dad walked with their two daughters, carefully avoiding the muddy parts of the path on this Mother’s Day.

A family stopped on the boardwalk over the pond to listen to nature quietly calling.

Just another sunny, early spring Sunday afternoon at the Gorman Nature Center, a part of the Richland County Park District.

The Gorman Nature Center at 2295 Lexington Ave. features 150 acres of forests, prairies, ponds and streams and provides over five miles of conveniently located public trails.

With the trails open daily, year-round from dawn to dusk, the park on Sunday offered a series of postcard-perfect photo opportunities.
