Ray Allen Etter, age 91 of Shelby, passed away after a short illness on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Avita Health System in Ontario, Ohio.

Born on October 1, 1934 to the late John Cecil and Alberta J. (Allen) Etter in Raisin Center, Michigan, he graduated from Adrian High School in the class of 1952. He retired in 2000 after working 15 years at Webb-Stiles Company as a Sales Engineer.

He was a member of the Mansfield First (M1) Church. Ray enjoyed golf but was known for his superior fishing skills. He was known for fishing, no one could “out fish” him. He will truly be missed by family and friends.

Those who will cherish his memories include his wife of 22 years, Mollie Midge Binion-Etter, whom he married on April 3, 2004; children, Cindy Dumire, Mike Etter, Tim Etter, Nadine (Larry) Patrick, Shawn (Dan) Carty, and Clarke (Cindy) Dawley; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his previous wife, Paula Etter, children, Doug (Linda) Addison, Debra Williams and Glenna Burton; two sisters and three brothers.

Friends and family may come to honor his life from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, Ohio and on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mansfield First (M1) Church, 1000 McPherson Street, Mansfield Ohio, 44903. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 starting at 11:00 AM at the M1 Church with Pastor Mark Lehman and Pastor Dan Carty officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Funeral Home & Burial Park in Akron, Ohio.
