Ronald Leo Schinsky, 77, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his home where he enjoyed time to himself. He was born April 12, 1949, in Mansfield, to the late Leo and Eileen (Hayes) Schinsky.

Ron found a kind of peace in the natural world. Whether casting a line into still water, tending a careful garden, or coaxing life from an unusual houseplant, he was most at ease when surrounded by growing things. He carried that same sense of wonder into his travels, returning often to Jamaica, the Caribbean, and Canada—places that Ron and Tammy enjoyed visiting.

His life was not without hardship. Ron faced many challenges along the way, yet he held fast to his faith and love for Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his former spouse and devoted friend of more than 45 years, Tamela Schinsky; his brother, Jeff Schinsky; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who carry his memory forward.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Schinsky; his sisters, Becky Pritt and Sandra Watts; and his niece, Amy Yates.

A life celebration to honor Ronald’s life and faith will be held at a later date, with service details to be announced as they become available.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s memory to The Gideons International via the following link https://gideons.org/

The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is honored to care for Ronald and to serve his family.
